Project Description

Carrie Austin of Dimon Construction designed this porch addition. She included cultured stone, raised panel columns, a stained bead board ceiling, a large light fixture & crown molding to make an impressive entranceway. Austin traveled to Chicago to accept this award. Her design and photos are featured in the December, 2006 issue of Professional Remodeler Magazine.

Ron Dimon and Kelly Fey accept an award for a bathroom design from Qualified Remodeler Magazine. Even though Kelly moved to the Washington DC area after getting married, our carpenters continue to build with the quality of this award.

This remodel involved the conversion of the upstairs of a garage to a private museum. The craftsmanship was of the utmost quality to reflect the importance of the homeowner's collection of patent models. Using laminated beams and truss joists, Dimon Construction lowered the existing garage ceiling to create more headroom upstairs. A cupola was built in the center of the museum for natural light and to make the room appear larger.

This project converted a patio area into a sunroom. Ron designed a reverse gable roof line with a center ridge pole to support the rafters and allow a larger exterior wall for windows. This addition fits well with the existing house and required a minimal amount of interior remodeling. The complete replacement of this storm-damaged front porch needed to comply with historical specifications. A specialty wood product company was used to provide the detailed lumber to reproduce the railing. The porch was reproduced exactly as it looked in the 1800's.
